Commemorating the price paid by many prisoners of concentration camps during the Anglo-Boer War and WWII in their battle for survival by breathing life into the music and literature associated with and inherited from their struggle.
Programme includes:
– Prose and poetry with Peter Taljaard
– Violin Recital by Sharon de Kock: Music from the Holocaust, The Lark Ascending, Kol Nidrei, Bach Sonata No. 1: Adagio, and Schindler’s List Theme
– Panel discussion on the topic of the cost of freedom, then and now.
