After the death of General Piet Joubert, General Louis Botha became the Commandant-General of the Transvaal Forces. He held this position to the end of the war. He later became the First Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa in 1910.
This hall is dedicated to portraying the ordeal that the Boers endured whilst on Commando for the duration of the war. The War Museum’s comprehensive collection of firearms is also displayed here.
